Sodalite is a mineral characterized by its distinctive blue color, often featuring white veins or patches. It is a sodium aluminum silicate containing chlorine, with the chemical formula Na8(Al6Si6O24)Cl2. Although relatively hard (rating 5.5-6 on the Mohs scale), it can be scratched and is sensitive to pressure, high temperatures, and household cleaners.
